19-y-o Killed By Residents For Allegedly Killing His 72-y-o Father
The body of a 72 year old construction worker was yesterday discovered in a shallow grave by residents of Williamsfield district of Johns Hall, St. James.
The victim’s identity was revealed to be that of Owen ‘Bill’ James, whose body was found decomposing behind his house in a hole covered by a sheet of zinc.
It is believed that he was murdered by his 19 year old son Duvaine, who was later mobbed and chopped to death by disgruntled residents of the community of Williamsfield.
According to investigations, Owen James went missing for weeks yet his son Duvaine made no alarms, instead he told persons that his father was away working.
One resident after being questioned by the Jamaica Gleaner, explained that “Mi see him with Bill phone and him (the son) seh him father give him it and buy a new phone and SIM. We ask for the new number and he give us a number. When we call, a lady would answer,”.
Upon Owen’s body being discovered by the residents, his son was taken into the police station by the officers for questioning, but he was later released.
His release did not sit well with some residents of the community who expressed that the elderly deceased man did not deserve to die like that.
This led them to take justice into their own hands by hacking the teen to death has all the evidence had indicated that he was guilty in their minds.
Checks revealed that no one was charged for the killing of Duvaine.
